Kanopy provides instant access to thousands of critically acclaimed films, documentaries, and children’s programming, all at no cost to library users.
Tim McDonald, Director of Libraries and Information Services, expressed excitement about the new service, which brings top-tier content to library users: “We’re thrilled to offer our patrons the opportunity to stream high-quality films and educational content right from the comfort of their homes. Kanopy is an incredible addition to our library’s digital resources.”
What is Kanopy?
Kanopy gives users access to a vast collection of content, from feature films to captivating documentaries and children’s programming. The service can be accessed via mobile apps (iPhone and Android), Smart TVs, and computers, allowing users to watch their favorite shows and films anytime, anywhere.
Each Pasadena Public Library card comes with 15 streaming credits per month. Most films require two to four credits, so patrons can enjoy multiple titles every month. The app also features a helpful filter, allowing users to sort content by the number of credits needed to stream. Plus, Kanopy Kids content is available for unlimited viewing, making it an excellent resource for families.
Getting Started is Easy
To start streaming, library cardholders simply need to visit kanopy.com or download the Kanopy app. After selecting Pasadena Public Library (CA) and entering their library card number and PIN, users can claim their 15 monthly credits. Creating an account with an email and password will complete the setup.
