The City of Pasadena’s Reconnecting Communities Advisory Group will hold its second meeting tonight. The group is tasked with developing plans for 40 acres of undeveloped acreage located along the former planned path of the 710 freeway extension in the area known as the 710 stub.
The group’s mission is to begin the process of reconnecting the fabric of the community that was affected by the freeway construction decades past and establish a new vision for its future.
The Pasadena Reconnecting Communities Advisory Group is composed of 15 members, including representatives from the city, the business community, and the community at large.
The group will meet monthly to discuss progress on the project and to develop a plan for the future of the site.
The group’s first meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, located at 100 North Garfield Avenue. The meeting is open to the public.
The agenda for the meeting includes discussions of an earlier visit to Pasadena by Assistant Secretary of Transportation Policy Christopher Coes, developing a road map to work products and the role of the task force, background information about the general plan and planning processes required by state law, and background information on the Measure R “near term projects.”
Also on the agenda: the consideration of changing the group name.
The agenda published by the City does not indicate if the meeting will be televised or live streamed.
