Correction: Pasadena Rental Housing Board Convenes Special Meeting Thursday

The Pasadena Rental Housing Board (PRHB) is set to conduct a special meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 at the Robinson Park Recreation Center, focusing on staffing support and rental housing rent adjustments.

On the meeting’s agenda, the board will consider approving a contract with Ultimate Staffing Services. The contract, valued at up to $25,000, aims to provide temporary staffing support for PRHB meeting preparations and associated tasks.

If approved, the board’s chairperson, Ryan Bell, will receive authorization to execute and manage the contract with Ultimate Staffing Services, in the city’s best interests.

Moreover, PRHB plans to adjust its Fiscal Year 2023 Operating Budget, making room for the $25,000 contract. 

Further items on the agenda include adopting resolutions related to rental housing rents in Pasadena. 

As per the Pasadena City Charter, the PRHB recommends an Annual General Adjustment to Rental Housing Rents, amounting to a 2.75% increase for the period from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

Lastly, the PRHB will present reports from ad hoc committees, covering staffing plans, foundational issues, and the board’s work plan.
