The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House is holding its annual Walk for Kids on Sunday, April 2, in Old Pasadena’s Central Park at 272 S. Raymond Avenue.
The House (actually two side-by-side houses on Pasadena Avenue) is a wonderful haven of hope and sanctuary for families whose critically-ill children who are receiving medical treatment at local hospitals.
Walk for Kids helps pay for this magnificent mission with a two-mile walk to raise raise funds and promote the services and programs provided by the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House. Participants come together for a day of fun, food, entertainment and giveaways.
Anyone can participate in the Walk For Kids by joining or starting a team, walking as an individual or donating to help other walkers reach their goals. Participants can designate the funds they raise to go towards one of the other five Southern California Ronald McDonald Houses, Camp, or choose to Support All Programs in Southern California. No matter how you choose to join, you will be making a huge difference in the lives of ill children and their families.
Registration for the Walk opens at 9 a.m. as the Walker Village and Kids’ Zone Open. Opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. along with the warm-up, and the Walk begins at 10:30 a.m.
For those bringing children, Kids’ Zone opens at 9 a.m. with lots of fun stuff – carnival games, face painting, balloon making, toys and many more attractions.
Walker Village will have vendor booths where you’ll find many of the community supporters. Participants will enjoy giveaways and other treats here.
Just steps away from the VIP Tent are the Walk for Kids Photo Opportunity Area. You can stop by and record your team’s 2017 Walk for Kids fun.
When you support the Walk For Kids, you are providing care, comfort, and support to families so that they may focus on what’s most important – healing their sick child. So know that when you walk, you are making moments like these possible.
The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House has 12 bedrooms. Families also receive meals and support, as well as the comforting environment of living with families who are in similar circumstances. The House has been providing services to the community since 2004, and has served over 13,000 children and families.
