The City of Pasadena and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce will present their third annual Economic and Business Summit on Thursday, Oct. 24, bringing together local business leaders to discuss the area’s economic future.

The event, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Altadena Town and Country Club, 2290 Country Club Drive in Altadena, will feature presentations from prominent figures in regional economic development and scientific research.

Stephen Cheung, president and CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation and its subsidiary, the World Trade Center Los Angeles, will deliver the keynote address, offering an economic overview and outlook for the coming year.

Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo is expected to provide opening remarks, while city Economic Development Director David Klug will discuss current development initiatives.

The summit will also highlight the city’s scientific community, with presentations from Fred Farina, Caltech’s chief innovation and corporate partnerships officer, and Duane Waliser, chief scientist of JPL’s Earth Science and Technology Directorate. Waliser oversees the development and operation of Earth science remote sensing instruments for NASA’s airborne and satellite program.

Katelyn Barchowsky, Pasadena Chamber Board chair, will welcome attendees to the event, which aims to foster open discussion about Pasadena’s economic health and business future.

Tickets are priced at $90 per person, including lunch and parking. Corporate tables for eight are available for $850, offering signage and program recognition.

The City of Pasadena is underwriting the summit, with additional sponsorship from Kaiser Permanente, Verizon, Wells Fargo, and UCLA Health, who were Gold and Silver sponsors, respectively, for the 2023 event.

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1888 as the Board of Trade, currently serves more than 1,250 members and has played a major role in the city’s development since its earliest days.
