The City of Pasadena Department of Transportation announced that Route 20 will detour starting this Friday, June 21, through Tuesday, July 2. The detour, caused by construction at the intersection of Arroyo Parkway and Glenarm Street, will redirect Route 20 buses along Raymond Avenue between Glenarm Street and California Boulevard.

According to the Pasadena Department of Transportation Twitter account, “Route 20 will detour starting this Friday, June 21 through Tuesday July 2, using Raymond Ave. between Glenarm St. and California Blvd. #iRidePasadena #PasadenaTransit.” The Department advised passengers to visit PasadenaTransit.net or call (626) 744-4055 for more information or route planning assistance.

The construction will result in the closure of several bus stops, including northbound and southbound stops on Arroyo Parkway at Glenarm Street and Fillmore Street. The southbound stop on Arroyo Parkway at California Street will also be closed during the detour period.

To accommodate passengers, temporary stops will be set up along the detour route on Raymond Avenue. Route 20 buses traveling counterclockwise will use existing Route 51 stops at northbound Raymond Avenue and Glenarm Street, as well as northbound Raymond Avenue and Fillmore Street.

Clockwise Route 20 buses will have temporary stops at southbound Raymond Avenue and Fillmore Street, south of the intersection, with a temporary sign posted on the signal, and southbound Raymond Avenue and Glenarm Street, north of the intersection.

The Route 51 trip that typically starts at the southbound Arroyo Parkway and California Street stop at 3:43 p.m. will instead begin at the northbound Raymond Avenue and Glenarm Street stop during the detour period.

Pasadena Transit encourages passengers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their commutes during the construction.
