Pasadena Water and Power will close the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Fillmore Street overnight next week as crews install a new 8-inch water main, the utility said in an announcement.

The overnight closures are part of a water main replacement project on Fillmore Street between Fair Oaks and Raymond avenues. Pasadena Water and Power said the new pipeline will reinforce the reliability of water service to the area.

Overnight construction will run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24, according to the utility. During those hours, the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Fillmore Street will be closed, with detours routed through Bellefontaine Street and Raymond Avenue.

After the overnight phase, the project will continue with daytime work from July 27 through mid-September, Pasadena Water and Power said.

Residents with questions or concerns can contact Norman Lara at NLara@cityofpasadena.net or (626) 744-7607. Complete project details are available on the utility’s construction page at pwp.cityofpasadena.net/fillmore-street-water-main-replacement/.
