Pasadena Water and Power Warns of Scammers

Pasadena Water and Power warned its customers of solar electric contractors who are calling Pasadena residents to promote solar sales.

The utilities department said on Tuesday it received reports of scammers disguised as contractors of Pasadena Water and Power who claimed that they have the personal utility information of the customers, such as their personal electric rate and user information.

Phyllis Currie, general manager of Pasadena Water and Power, said the City the utilities department would never sell or provide personal customer information to third parties for their commercial benefit.

Currie added that the organization prioritizes protecting its customers’ information and privacy.
