Bluebeam, a software company in Pasadena that serves architecture, engineering and construction professionals worldwide, on Tuesday announced two new appointments to its executive team.
Usman Shuja will become the new CEO of Bluebeam and the Chief Division Officer of the Build & Construct Division of Nemetschek Group, Bluebeam’s parent company. Shuja was previously the Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell’s Connected Buildings, a software business that provides solutions for smart buildings.
Miekie Liebenberg will join Bluebeam as the Chief Operating Officer. He has more than 20 years of experience in leading global operations and customer service teams in various industries.
“I am delighted to welcome Usman and Miekie, two technology industry experts, into Bluebeam and the Nemetschek Group,” Yves Padrines, CEO of the Nemetschek Group, said in a statement. “Both will help deliver the ongoing transition of Bluebeam’s business model to software as a service (SaaS) while focusing on customer needs and continuous innovation at global scale. They will also contribute to the long-term strategy of delivering more innovations across the Nemetschek portfolio.”
Jon Elliott, who has been the CEO of Bluebeam for over six years, has decided to leave the company for personal reasons. He will stay as an advisor to ensure a smooth transition.
“Being able to serve our customers, who are the creative and hard-working people who build our world, has been the greatest pleasure of my entire career.” said Elliott. “There is a massive opportunity in front of Bluebeam and the Nemetschek Group, and I look forward to seeing the great things the team will accomplish under Usman’s leadership.”
Bluebeam said the new appointments will help the company accelerate its transition to software as a service (SaaS) and deliver more innovations to its customers and the Nemetschek Group.
Bluebeam has more than two million users in over 130 countries and is one of the leading brands in the Build & Construct Division of Nemetschek Group, a German software group that offers solutions for the entire lifecycle of buildings and infrastructure projects.
Bluebeam’s Revu software allows companies to keep their office and field operations in sync and keep projects on track. With the software, AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) work teams can collaborate in real time wherever they are, accessing documents on any device.
Last year, Bluebeam announced a milestone in its global business transformation with the release of Bluebeam Cloud, which extends the original Revu and Studio workflows for collaboration by teams anywhere.
