Huntington Hospital was named one of the top-performing healthcare providers in North America for supply chain operations, according to an award announced Tuesday by Global Healthcare Exchange.

The Pasadena nonprofit, a Cedars-Sinai affiliate that has served the community since 1892, was among 25 hospitals in the small-segment category to receive GHX’s 2025 Supply Chains of Distinction Award, which measures how accurately and efficiently hospitals process supply orders, invoices and payments. Cedars-Sinai Health System was separately recognized in the large-segment category, according to the press release.

The award is based on what GHX calls “Perfect Order” metrics — a composite measure of order accuracy, automation, invoice precision and payment efficiency across the 2025 calendar year, according to the company’s press release issued March 17. Segment placement reflects transaction volume on the GHX Exchange platform, not hospital size or bed count.

GHX, a healthcare supply chain technology company founded in 2000 and headquartered in Louisville, Colorado, recognized the top 25 performers in each of three segments — small, medium and large — along with five Canadian providers.

“At a time when healthcare faces increasing cost pressure, workforce constraints and ongoing supply chain fragility, these organizations are proving that operational excellence is both possible and essential,” said Tina Vatanka Murphy, president and CEO of GHX, in the press release.

The award measures what happens behind the scenes at hospitals — the ordering, delivery and payment for thousands of medical and surgical supplies that clinicians depend on daily. According to GHX, Perfect Order performance tracks how effectively a hospital automates processes from purchase order through invoice and payment, with customers monitoring their results through a real-time analytics dashboard.

Huntington Hospital, located at 100 West California Boulevard, is one of several California institutions recognized. Others include Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Contra Costa Health in Martinez and Front Porch in Glendale in the small segment, and Palomar Health in Escondido and San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland in the medium segment.

Award recipients will be honored at GHX Summit 2026, scheduled for May 11-14 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. More information on the award is available at ghx.com/awards/supply-chains-of-distinction.

“By embracing automation, trusted data and AI-enabled insights, they are setting a new standard for supply chain leadership,” Murphy said in the press release, adding that the recognized organizations are helping build a healthcare system that is “more agile, more transparent and better prepared for the challenges ahead.”
