Pasadena police assisted Pasadena City College police in a Tuesday night operation that resulted in the arrest of a man with a concealed airsoft gun and a knife in a campus classroom.
Pasadena Lieutenant Anthony Russo reported that at 7:38 p.m., Pasadena Police received a request for assistance from PCC police in connection with the report of a man carrying a concealed handgun in a C building classroom.
KCBS-TV reported “the superintendent” said a student had a handgun in a math class.
Pasadena police officers responded to the area, Russo said, set up a containment around the building, and established an emergency response team in case of an active shooter situation.
The officers entered the classroom that was in session and identified the student matching the description. The student, Jason Ho, a 25-year-old male from Rosemead, was detained without incident and found to be in possession of an airsoft gun and a pocket knife, according to Russo.
Ho was booked into Pasadena jail on misdemeanor charges, Russo said.
Pasadena City College police are handling the investigation.
