A 36-year-old Pasadena man was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing Cordova Street at Oak Knoll Avenue on Saturday night, authorities said.
The collision occurred at about 7:46 p.m. when a sedan traveling eastbound on Cordova struck the pedestrian in the south crosswalk, Pasadena Police Lieutenant Richard Padilla said.
Pasadena Fire Dept. paramedics responded and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 75-year-old man from Glendale, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Padilla said.
Preliminary findings indicate alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash, Padilla said.
Pasadena’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was called to the scene and assumed control of the inquiry, which remains ongoing.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of family.
