A 31-year-old South Pasadena woman was arrested Monday night after allegedly leading police on a brief vehicle pursuit in a stolen car, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Monica Cuellar.
The incident began at approximately 9:17 p.m. on June 2, when officers monitoring radio broadcasts about a stolen vehicle spotted the car at Marengo Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard, Cuellar reported.
Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect, identified as Alexis Frias, fled, prompting a short pursuit that lasted about 30 to 40 seconds before the vehicle collided with a curb and came to a stop, Cuellar said.
Frias, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, complained of pain and was transported to a hospital, Cuellar said. She was later released and booked on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle and evading police.
Cuellar confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Pasadena. No weapons or drugs were found in the vehicle, and Frias did not provide a reason for allegedly taking the car, according to Cuellar.
