Vuori, a popular activewear brand (activewear brand for men and women), is set to open its first store in Pasadena on Friday, July 28. The new 4,300-square foot store, located at 73 West Colorado Blvd. #1C, will become the 39th brick-and-mortar location for the brand and will offer a range of trendy men’s apparel.
The company’s mission is to create quality products for the pursuit of a happy life and is guided by its values and the coastal California lifestyle.
It was founded in 2014 by Joe Kudla in Encinitas, California.
Kudla says Vuori’s approach to sustainability is fivefold, focused on the materials used, reduction of waste, offsetting 100% of their carbon footprint, social responsibility and community leadership. The company’s vision centers around producing versatile clothing that seamlessly transitions from workout to everyday life.
Despite initial challenges in the apparel industry, Kudla financed Vuori’s startup costs through personal savings, credit card debt, and investments from friends and family. To boost growth, Vuori shifted its strategy from selling products in gym studios to an e-commerce-focused approach. It also adopted an omnichannel strategy, establishing wholesale partnerships with Nordstrom, Rei, and Equinox while also launching physical stores.
Community engagement also became a cornerstone of their brand strategy. The company frequently hosts events at their physical locations, fostering a sense of connection and loyalty among their customers.
One of Vuori’s earliest products, the Kore short, proved to be a significant success. Joe Kudla remains actively involved in Vuori, maintaining a personal connection with the product line and sharing his favorite picks from the brand. With its continued commitment to quality, versatility, and customer satisfaction, Vuori continues to thrive in the activewear market.
