Pretrial Hearing Set for Suspect in Fatal Pasadena CVS Parking Lot Stabbing

Man charged with murder in 2020 Pasadena incident faces court

A pretrial hearing is scheduled Monday for a man charged with fatally stabbing another man in a CVS parking lot in Pasadena nearly four years ago.

Enrique Antonio Real of Baldwin Park as scheduled to appear in Department F of the Pasadena Courthouse at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 16. Real faces one count of murder in the death of Christopher Flores, 30, of Altadena.

The stabbing occurred on Sept. 11, 2020, around 8:15 p.m. in the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy at 20 E. Orange Grove Blvd., at the intersection with Fair Oaks Avenue. 

Police say Real and Flores, who knew each other, were walking through the lot when Real allegedly stabbed Flores multiple times.

Witnesses called police after seeing the attack. 

Officers found Flores bleeding heavily and rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.

Real attempted to flee but was apprehended nearby after witnesses helped police track him. A bloodied knife was allgedly recovered at the scene. Real was arrested on Sept. 16, 2020.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office charged Real with murder and his bail was set at $2.02 million.

The motive for the stabbing remains unclear.
