On Monday, the City Council votes on a contract for $450,000 for on-call sidewalk repairs through the Pilot Sidewalk Repair Partnership Program which would expand the number of locations repaired.
Pasadena property owners are responsible for sidewalk repairs even when damage has been caused by a city-owned tree. The Pilot Sidewalk Repair Partnership Program is an incentive program to help property owners cover that cost.  The City will match 50 percent of the cost of the sidewalk repairs, subject to a cap of $1,000 until one-time pilot program funding is exhausted.
Some residents may qualify for a match of 70% of the cost of the repairs.
The City Council action on Monday is whether or not to approve the contract for the repair work to Covina-based Los Angeles Engineering, Inc., whose bid of $280,175 was 57% lower than the amount budgeted in the Public Works Dept.’s Engineering Estimate.
“Due to the favorable bid results for the City, the Department of Public Works is expanding the scope of the project to include additional repair locations,” Chief Engineer Cathy Chang wrote in her recommendation to the Council.
The Council meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Pasadena City Hall at 100 North Garfield Ave., Pasadena.
