Forecasters Say Rose Parade and The Rose Bowl Game Will Be Dry, But Cloudy

The weather forecast for the Rose Parade on Monday, January 1, 2024, remains consistent with earlier predictions: most likely dry – but with a 20% chance of rain lurking in the background, according to the National Weather Service, it might be wise to have umbrellas and ponchos at hand.

The Parade’s rain-free track record borders on amazing. Rain during the Rose Parade is relatively rare, having occurred only just 10 times in the event’s 135-year history. The last time it rained during the parade was in 2006.

The parade has never been canceled due to weather conditions and continues rain or shine.

The step-off time is set for 8 a.m. The temperature is expected to be in the low 60s, with lows in the mid-40s.

Those planning to camp overnight on Colorado Boulevard should bring warm jackets, heavy blankets, and a pillow, as it can get quite cold. Colorado Boulevard will close to traffic at 10 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
