A full road closure is scheduled on Rosemont Avenue between Washington Boulevard and Seco Street beginning Tuesday, July 29 through Friday, August 1, as part of the city’s ongoing resurfacing and ADA improvements program, officials announced.
Daily construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
The closure is tied to Pasadena’s Annual Citywide Street Resurfacing and ADA Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2025, which may extend into Fiscal Year 2026 if delays occur. Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained, and detour signage will guide drivers to alternate routes.
The resurfacing contract encompasses roughly 10 centerline miles of asphalt pavement, primarily through asphalt overlay, according to the Department of Public Works. Typical project components also include utility manhole adjustments, replacement of traffic-signal loop detectors, raised pavement markers and roadway striping.
Construction under the broader resurfacing program began in April and is expected to conclude by September. City officials noted that street segments selected for resurfacing are based on results from a citywide pavement condition assessment, conducted approximately every five years as part of Pasadena’s Pavement Management Program.
