The Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle Corps is providing free school supplies to local students in need. Each backpack contains essential items such as a notebook, paper, pencils, and a pencil case.
Captain Nicholas Helms, Corps Officer of the Pasadena Tabernacle, emphasized the program’s inclusivity.
“Any student in need of school supplies living in our service area qualifies,” he said.
The service area encompasses Pasadena, South Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre, and San Marino.
Due to limited availability this year, interested individuals must call (626) 773-4400 to schedule a pick-up appointment.
Captain Helms expressed hope for future expansion of the program.
“We hope that this year we can partner with more donors so that next year we can build and have a Back to School event as we have been able to do in the past,” he said.
The Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle Corps has been serving the Greater Pasadena community for over 130 years. Their mission, encapsulated in the motto “heart to God, hand to man,” focuses on providing care and support to individuals and families in need.
