Santa Ana Winds Ease, Pasadena Warms Toward Midweek Peak

Santa Ana winds will weaken as Pasadena warms to the mid-80s by Wednesday before slowly cooling into the weekend, forecasters said Monday.

Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 78 with north-northeast winds around 10 mph and gusts up to 15 mph. Tonight will be clear with a low near 51.

Tuesday will bring sunny skies and a high near 82. Winds will ease to 5 to 10 mph from the east-northeast. Overnight lows will remain in the low 50s.

Wednesday is expected to be the warmest day, with highs near 85 and light northeasterly breezes. Temperatures will stay 10 to 15 degrees above normal but below record levels.

The warming trend will continue through Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low to mid-80s. A gradual cooling will follow, with Sunday’s high near 78.

No rain is forecast through Jan. 21. Models show dry conditions persisting across the region, though forecasters noted rain chances could increase after that date.

The National Weather Service said temperatures will remain above normal into next week, even as the cooling trend develops.
