Santa will make a special stop in Pasadena this Christmas Eve, thanks to the Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) and its Operation Santa project.
Since 1934, the Jaycees have brought the magic of Christmas to tens of thousands of local children. Teams of jolly Santas—accompanied by Mrs. Clauses and elves—will hand-deliver toys directly to children’s homes on December 24.
Operation Santa aims to fulfill every child’s wish, but children with greater needs are given highest priority. The Jaycees also focus on distributing books and STEM-related toys as much as possible.
Chairwoman Sana Farooq shared, “I personally grew up in poverty, so I know firsthand how much this event means to families. It’s truly an honor to chair the program this year, lighten the load for parents that need it, and help bring a little Christmas magic to more than 1,700 kids on Christmas Eve.”
Operation Santa’s magic relies on the Pasadena community. The Jaycees welcome volunteers for the effort— Santas, Mrs. Clauses, elves, and more— as well as financial donations to help spread Christmas cheer.
The Pasadena Jaycees began in 1929 and have been a volunteer and leadership training organization for people aged 21 to 40 ever since.
