The public is invited Wednesday evening to attend to the Second Annual Joint Pasadena Police and Fire Memorial Service on front steps of the Pasadena City Hall to honor the memory of firefighters and police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
To date, six Pasadena police officers and nine Pasadena firefighters have lost their lives serving the community, according to a news statement.
The program, which is free to the public, will include the Presentation of Colors, the National Anthem, and a 21-gun salute, the ringing of the Fire Bell and Taps, according to the news statement.
Personnel from the Pasadena fire and police departments will be in dress uniforms, joining Pasadena police chief Phillip L. Sanchez and Pasadena fire chief Calvin E. Wells. The service is expected to be a solemn, formal observance with many photo opportunities, according to the statement.
The service is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the front steps of Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave. For more information go to: www.cityofpasadena.net.
