Service Adjustments Impact Pasadena Bus Lines As Metro Aims to Optimize Schedules

LA Metro announced upcoming changes to bus service across Los Angeles County. Starting June 23, many areas will see increased frequency. However, some will face service reductions.

According to the announcement, Pasadena will be affected by the following changes:

  • Line 177, which connects Pasadena to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), will have its earliest and latest trips discontinued in both directions. The first northbound trip will depart at 5:50 a.m., and the last will leave at 6:24 p.m. Southbound, the earliest trip from JPL will be at 6:17 a.m., and the final departure will be at 6:50 p.m. Additionally, MV Transportation will take over operations of this line from Transdev.
  • Line 180 will experience reduced service frequency, with weekday daytime buses arriving every 12 minutes instead of every 10, and weekend frequency dropping from every 12 minutes to every 15. However, Metro plans to coordinate schedules with Line 217 to provide service every 6 minutes between Hollywood and Glendale.

Detailed information about the service changes can be found on Metro’s official website.

The agency said it aims to optimize service and improve efficiency across the county while ensuring that essential transportation needs are met.
