Some light rain could fall in parts of the Southland Friday as the first of two small storm systems moves into the area, but forecasters said the area probably won’t get too wet, if at all.
What’s described as a “weak storm system” will bring a chance of showers to the area through Friday morning, with a slightly weaker system passing through Saturday into Sunday.
“Neither storm, especially the weekend one, looks as though it will produce much precipitation,” according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters said there will be a chance of showers across the Los Angeles area Friday morning, but the rain will but “unimpressive, with most areas possibly receiving 0.1 inches or less.”
The second storm arriving Saturday night into Sunday morning “looks even more unimpressive with rain chances,” according to the NWS, which said the most likely chance of rain will be in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
But while rain appears mostly unlikely, winds will be an issue. Forecasters said gusty northwest winds will blow across the region at times between Friday and Monday, “and very strong winds are possible Saturday night into Sunday.”

Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers before 10 am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 66. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the morning.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming north northeast after midnight.
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 66. West southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 65.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy.
Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 46. Breezy.
