Caltrans District 7 announced ongoing intermittent lane reductions and off-ramp closures on westbound Interstate 210 as part of an ongoing Soundwall Package 10 Project. The work, which began recently, is expected to continue through 2024.

The project will affect the area between Marengo Avenue and Fair Oaks Avenue. Lane reductions and off-ramp closures will occur Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Metro’s contractor, C.A. Rasmussen, is conducting construction activities on Maple Street between Lake Avenue and Fair Oaks Avenue, and on Corson Street between Los Robles Avenue and Wilson Avenue. The work includes setting up temporary construction safety barriers, clearing and grubbing, material delivery and removal.

Additional activities involve backfill, grading, excavation, and installing rebar, piles, and formwork. Concrete placement operations for soundwall construction are also part of the project scope.

Motorists can expect lane reductions on Maple Street between Lake Avenue and Fair Oaks Avenue, and on Corson Street between Los Robles Avenue and Wilson Avenue. Westbound I-210 will experience intermittent off-ramp closures at Marengo Avenue and Fair Oaks Avenue from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Caltrans officials have stated that noise mitigation measures will occur during nighttime activities. They also emphasized that all ramps will reopen before peak traffic hours to minimize commuter disruption.

The transportation agency has assured that local access and pedestrian access will be maintained during work activities.

Emergency responders will continue to have unimpeded access throughout the construction period. Advanced warning signage and detour information will be posted along the affected routes to guide motorists.

Caltrans reminds drivers that construction is a dynamic process subject to weather conditions, and closure dates may change.
