Pasadena will see a shift from early-week heat to cooler conditions by midweek, forecasters with the National Weather Service said Monday. Highs near 87 degrees today and 86 degrees Tuesday will fall to the low 80s Wednesday, with further cooling into the upper 70s by the weekend.
Sunny skies and calm winds are expected Monday, with southwest breezes around 5 mph in the afternoon. Overnight lows will dip to 61 degrees under mostly clear skies.
Tuesday will remain warm, reaching 86 degrees, before temperatures begin to ease Wednesday. The forecast calls for highs near 81 degrees and partly cloudy skies Wednesday night, with lows around 58 degrees.
Forecasters said the cooling trend will continue through Thursday, with highs near 79 degrees, and into the weekend, when daytime temperatures will stay in the upper 70s. Overnight lows will drop into the mid-50s.
No significant rainfall is expected, though forecasters noted a chance of morning drizzle later in the week as the marine layer deepens.
Winds will stay light through Tuesday but strengthen later in the week. Gusty northwest winds are possible in Pasadena by Friday, raising localized fire weather concerns.
Juneteenth Friday will be sunny with highs near 79 degrees. Saturday will cool slightly to 77 degrees, followed by a return to 79 degrees Sunday. Nights will remain clear and cool.
Looking ahead, forecasters said there is a 50 to 60 percent chance of above-normal temperatures returning early next week as a ridge builds from the east.
