A warming trend is anticipated in the coming days, with temperatures climbing nearly 10 degrees between Friday and Saturday as cool, cloudy conditions give way to weekend sunshine, the National Weather Service said Wednesday.

Until then, Pasadena will chill with cooler than normal temperatures, today struggling to a high near 67 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. A light south wind becoming southwest at 5 to 10 mph is expected throughout Wednesday, with patches of morning fog gradually clearing by afternoon.

Forecasters predict a 20 percent chance of light rain beginning after 11:00 p.m. tonight and continuing into Thursday, which will remain partly sunny with significantly cooler temperatures.

“Thursday will reach only about 63 degrees — below normal even in January,” the Weather Service said.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the low to mid-60s through Friday — approximately 6 to 12 degrees below normal — before a dramatic warming trend begins Saturday.

The weekend forecast shows highs reaching 73 degrees Saturday, climbing to 75 on Sunday and peaking at 76 by Monday, before cooling slightly to 73 on Tuesday.

Rain chances remain light but persistent through midweek. Thursday night brings a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 11:00 p.m., with new precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch expected. Friday continues with a 30 percent chance of showers throughout the day, tapering off before 11:00 p.m.

The Easter weekend outlook brightens considerably with Saturday forecast to be sunny with a high near 73 degrees, followed by clear skies Saturday night with a low around 51. Sunday continues the pleasant trend with sunny skies and a high of 75 degrees.
