Japanese food has gotten cheaper and tastier as SushiStop recently opened a branch in Pasadena. Everything in its menu costs $2.75.

The store offers a variety of food including the unique Tempura Ice Cream and Crispy Rice topped with spicy tuna and fresh avocado.
The store’s specialty is an array of Aburi or flame-seared Sushi paired with unique sauce. The choices include Salmon Belly with black caviar and Ponzu sauce, Yellowtail Belly with Yozu Kosho and Ponzu sauce and White Tuna with Yozu Kosho and a hint of truffle oil.
SushiStop offers usual Japanese food favorites including Curry Udon, Chicken Teriyaki Roll, Agedashi Tofu, Crab and Mozzarella Tempura, and Baked Green Mussels.
The Japanese restaurant also serves Popcorn Shrim Roll, a California roll topped with popcorn shrimp and homemade spicy mayo sauce; as well as Las Vegas Roll, a savory eel roll topped with spicy tuna and thinly sliced lotus root.
Customers may choose among a variety of desserts including Green Tea Ice Cream, Banana Tempura, Chocolate Souffle and Creme Brulee.
The store also boasts of its sushi-bar style service that it claims enabled it to give fast service to its customers.
“At SushiStop, our sushi-bar style service and seating allows our chefs to be right in front of you at all times, giving you the attention you need when you need it,” the eatery posted on its website. “Even calculating the bill is a breeze.”
