Two separate protests targeting Elon Musk and Tesla are planned for Saturday in Old Pasadena as part of what organizers are calling their “biggest day of action” yet, with demonstrations scheduled at approximately 500 Tesla locations worldwide.

The first local demonstration, dubbed “Tesla Takedown,” will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at the Tesla showroom at 117 W. Colorado Blvd. Later Saturday, a second anti-Trump/Musk rally organized by ACT Pasadena will be held at the same location from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Both protests aim to voice opposition to Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s role in the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and his actions eliminating federal aid programs and firing thousands of government employees.

“Elon Musk is destroying our democracy, and he’s using the fortune he built at Tesla to do it. We are taking action at Tesla to stop Musk’s illegal coup,” stated organizers of the daytime protest, which is being coordinated by the Pasadena Arroyo Democratic Club.

The evening rally, hosted by ACT Pasadena, encourages participants to “raise your voice against illegal DOGE actions, and in defense of democracy!” Protesters are invited to bring signs and banners.

“We need to show Elon that he can throw a tantrum online because his stocks are tanking,” said Alice Hu, executive director of Planet Over Profit, during a planning call Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

The protests come amid rising tensions and declining Tesla stock, which has reportedly fallen nearly 40% since January due to poor sales figures and increasing competition.

President Donald Trump and Musk have labeled separate incidents of arson and vandalism at various Tesla locations as “domestic terrorism.” Attacks have been reported in Santa Barbara and San Diego but none in Los Angeles County. Attorney General Pam Bondi previously promised “severe consequences” for those involved in attacks on Tesla facilities.

“The things that we’re fighting for, we are fighting for our country. We’re fighting for democracy. We’re fighting for our freedoms. And when I say fighting, I’m saying that figuratively,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) clarified during a planning call reported by national media.

Local organizers have repeatedly emphasized the nonviolent nature of their movement.
