UCLA Bruins Kick Off Big Ten Football Play With First-Ever Game Against Indiana in Rose Bowl

The Big Ten Conference announced 2024 football dates Thursday, completing UCLA’s schedule for its first season in the league.

The Bruins play the initial Big Ten game of the campaign when Indiana visits Rose Bowl Stadium Sept. 14. This will also represent the schools’ first-ever meeting on the gridiron.

UCLA’s slate features each of the other three programs transitioning from the Pac-12 Conference to the Big Ten, with Oregon (Sept. 28) and crosstown rival USC (Nov. 23) coming to the Rose Bowl and the Bruins traveling to Washington (Nov. 16).

The road conference opener comes Oct. 5 with a trip to Penn State and the first matchup of the Bruins and Nittany Lions since 1968. UCLA leads the all-time series 4-2. The Bruins’ also set course for Rutgers (Oct. 19) and another first-ever meeting, as well as Nebraska (Nov. 2). The Cornhuskers lead that series 7-6 after most recently prevailing in the 2015 Foster Farms Bowl.

Also bound for Rose Bowl Stadium in 2024 are Minnesota (Oct. 12) and Iowa (Nov. 9). The Bruins are looking to even their all-time series with the Golden Gophers at two games apiece. They have not met since 1978. UCLA knocked off the Hawkeyes in the 1986 Rose Bowl Game, putting that series at its current count of 7-2 in favor of the Bruins.

Announced previously were UCLA’s non-conference games at Hawai’i (Aug. 31) and LSU (Sept. 21). The Bruins’ home game against Fresno State, previously scheduled for Sept. 14, was moved to Nov. 30.

Season-ticket deposits for 2024 can be placed NOW to guarantee seats at Rose Bowl Stadium for UCLA’s first season in the Big Ten Conference. There are also two more chances to see the Bruins at home in 2023, with Arizona State coming in Nov. 11 and California closing out the regular season Nov. 25. Tickets are available HERE.
