The Bruins enter their 11th meeting with the Bulldogs following a 19-13 loss to crosstown rival USC last weekend.

Quarterback Ethan Garbers has maintained a consistent presence, throwing touchdown passes in six consecutive games while completing 20 of 29 passes for 265 yards against the Trojans. Tight end Moliki Matavao caught Garbers’ touchdown pass, marking back-to-back weeks with a score.
Linebacker Carson Schwesinger, recently named one of five finalists for the prestigious Butkus Award, continues to lead the defense. The former walk-on leads the Big Ten Conference with 121 total tackles and 79 solo tackles, setting the pace nationally in solo tackles and solo tackles per game (7.2). Schwesinger has led UCLA in tackles in nine of eleven games this season and recorded a career-high 17 tackles at Washington, the most by a Bruin since 2016.
Foster, a UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame member who played running back for the Bruins from 1998-2001, took the helm on Feb. 12 after serving as the team’s Associate Head Coach and Running Backs Coach. His National Football League career included seven seasons with over 4,500 total yards and 16 touchdowns, including a 33-yard scoring dash in Super Bowl XXXVIII with the Carolina Panthers.
Despite their losing record, the Bruins have maintained a strong defensive presence, particularly against the run. UCLA ranks seventh nationally in rushing defense, allowing just 99.3 yards per game on the ground, following their second-place finish last season when they allowed 80.8 yards per game.
