Los Angeles County Assessor Jeff Prang will talk about the “Mysteries of the LA County Assessor’s Office – Revealed!” when he speaks at the Rotary Club of Pasadena’s weekly meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Altadena Town and Country Club.
The meeting is open to the public. Reservations must be made quickly – by 11 a.m. Monday.
As County Assessor, Prang is the elected official in charge of valuing over 2.6 million properties throughout the county, generating $19 billion in annual property taxes.
With his experience as a former West Hollywood councilmember and mayor, Prang has brought state-of-the-art reforms and modern technologies to his office since 2014.
Under his leadership, the County Assessor’s Office has continued building the Assessor Modernization Project (AMP), a property assessment system that’s replacing 40-year-old technologies known as legacy systems. After three successful phases, and over 125 million live documents converted digitally, AMP is now the go-to production system for the Assessor’s Office.
In February 2021, Prang led his office in moving the system to Oracle Cloud, another milestone that has led to better performance and huge cost savings.
The Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office is the largest in the nation with 1,400 employees.
Assessor Prang is a State Board of Equalization licensed appraiser, an Executive Committee member of the California Assessors’ Association, and an active member of the International Association of Assessing Officers and the Society of Auditor-Appraisers.
Wednesday’s meeting is in person only.
