With the addition of a batting cage coaches and players can conduct hitting practice and bullpen sessions without the concern of balls traveling to walking trails or the parking lot.
This will promote a safer hitting and throwing environment for both players and park visitors.
“Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League baseball program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being,” according to a City staff report.
Pasadena American Little League has partnered with the City in the past to complete Victory and Hamilton parks, new infield dirt, re-building pitcher mounds, the Hamilton Park dugout rehabilitation, Hamilton Park batting cage, V Maintaining/replacing backstop padding Hamilton Park scoreboard replacement, Hamilton Park concession stand equipment maintenance/replacement.
Victory Park currently has no batting cage to allow for a safe and protected area to conduct batting practices and warm-up pitchers.
The work to construct a batting cage adjacent to Diamond Two includes grading of ground, adding concrete, placing permanent fencing as batting cage, adding artificial turf to concrete, and placing batting cage nets.
