Visit Pasadena, the official travel and tourism organization for the City of Pasadena, has launched a citywide Pride campaign to welcome international and domestic travelers. The campaign’s message is simple but powerful: “All Are Welcome in Pasadena.”

The campaign comes as the U.S. travel industry reports that leisure travel has rebounded to pre-pandemic levels. It aims to welcome a global audience and kicks off during Pride month as the City of Pasadena raises the rainbow flag and Pride events are announced across the city.

Local businesses are invited to display the campaign window decal in entryways, proudly identifying with the Pasadena Pride Rose. The design expresses solidarity with all identities using the colors of the Pride flag to color the petals.

“Pasadena is a vibrant and diverse community that attracts travelers from around the world. We are incredibly excited to launch this Pride month campaign that celebrates Pasadena as a welcoming and safe destination for LGBTQ+ and ally communities,” said Kristin McGrath, Executive Director of Visit Pasadena.

This campaign comes on the heels of a report from Visit California, published on April 6, 2023, showing that 62% of international travelers visiting California pass through Los Angeles. The report also indicates that domestic air travel to California increased by 66% in 2022, with arrivals rising from 21.4 million to 35.5 million. With the “All Are Welcome in Pasadena” campaign, Visit Pasadena hopes to attract these international and domestic leisure travel audiences, aiming to boost overnight stays and visits in the City of Pasadena.

Visit Pasadena is implementing the campaign through domestic and international media relations, social media distribution, and in-person industry meetings and materials.

Businesses participating in the campaign are invited to engage via social media using the @visitpasadena tag and by submitting images or videos to the Visit Pasadena Asset Collector. The Visit Pasadena team will review all tagged posts and submitted photos for potential use in the travel industry.
