Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Pasadena) welcomes Anna Yan as Communications Manager. In her role, she will provide public relations and marketing support for Pasadena as a premier meetings and leisure destination through content development, earned media management, communications strategy, and reputation management. Yan’s support extends into the organization’s community engagement and group business development efforts, enhancing destination awareness with key messages in these areas as the tourism industry welcomes back events. With over 7 years of experience specializing in communications and marketing, Yan most recently led communications for domestic and international destinations and hotels as Senior Account Executive at Diamond Public Relations in Los Angeles. She previously served as the Public Relations Manager at Sonoma County Tourism, where she managed community relations, earned media, press trips, and crisis communications, and spearheaded a wellness focused content strategy for the organization’s pandemic recovery campaign. Yan began her communications career working with nonprofit organizations and luxury brands on tentpole fundraiser and events, including The Geffen Playhouse, The Boys & Girls Clubs, The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, The Cancer Support Community of Pasadena. Her varied freelance work experience extends into graphic design and marketing for start-ups, wineries, and small businesses.
“Pasadena holds a special place in my heart,” said Anna Yan. “I have extremely fond memories of graduating from high school at the Pasadena Convention Center, volunteering at the Rose Parade in grade school, and spending countless hours exploring the many diverse culinary and cultural experiences. I am so excited to be joining the dynamic team at Visit Pasadena.”
Yan graduated from California State University, Long Beach after transferring from Pasadena City College, where she won state and national championships in speech and debate.
