A woman who was the guest of a man at his apartment was shot dead during an argument and ensuing gunfire which erupted between the man and his roommate Saturday night about 10:09 p.m. in the 200 block of West Washington Boulevard.
Police have arrested both of the men involved in the argument and shooting. The homicide is Pasadena’s fourth so far this year, double the total of all murders in the city during 2016.
Police have not identified the victim or the city in which she lived, but have said she was 37 years of age.
Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said officers on routine patrol were flagged down by a witness who told them a woman had been shot inside a nearby residence.

When officers located the residence and went inside, they found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound and summoned the Pasadena Fire Department. Paramedics determined the woman was dead at the scene.
During the investigation police learned that “two residents of the location were engaged in an argument and during the argument both parties produced handguns which resulted in one shooting at the other,” Goodman said.
“One of the bullets struck the victim and as a result, she was killed,” he said.
Officers arrested both of the roommates.
Felipe More, 53, and Andrew Moore, 59, both residents of the Pasadena location where the shooting occurred, were both booked for homicide, Goodman said.
The two are not related. The relationship of the woman to the men has not been clarified by authorities at this time.
Police said that both handguns used during the incident were recovered at the scene.
An outdoor party at which children were present was underway just yards from the shooting. No one at the party was injured and no one from the party was involved in the shooting, authorities said.
A neighbor, Craig Bowlin, said he heard three shots.
“I heard three gunshots ring out. It was horrific,” Bowlin said. “It’s a shame we have to live this way.”
