A 25-year-old Pasadena woman was shot multiple times in the lower body and legs Sunday and police were searching for the shooter.
The incident occurred at 4:53 p.m. Officers who “were literally around the corner when the shooting occurred” heard the shots and immediately headed to the location near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue, according to Lt. Rudy Lemos.
The officers were simultaneously alerted by the Dept.’s new ShotSpotter gunfire detection system, Lemos said.
He said the gunfire had erupted shortly after bystanders stopped a physical altercation between the victim and a 17-year-old girl, who, during the fight, had experienced an apparent seizure.
Both the woman and the teen were taken to a hospital, where their conditions were not available, Lemos said.
Lemos said witnesses were uncooperative.
No suspect was identified or arrested and the motive for the shooting was unknown. No suspect description was available.
