Women’s Swim Closes Season, 6th At SCC Championships

Pasadena City College placed sixth at the South Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships held April 17-19 at East LA’s Swim Stadium.

Jemma Wernberg scored eighth place in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:08.32 while Elyssa Guevara also took eighth in the 100 butterfly final with her personal best time of 1:17.72.

Emily Wang was the consolation champ in the 100 breaststroke with her Lancers best mark of 1:20.84.

PCC finished in fifth in both the 800 and 400 freestyle relays. The squad of Guevara, Wernberg, Wang and Genesis Rojas swam 10:22.81 in the 800 and 4:32.61 in the 400.

Wernberg was 11th with a personal best in the 200 free at 2:33.90 and accomplished her top mark in the 500 freestyle in 6:54.92 (15th).

Rojas placed 14th in the 1,650 freestyle (26:18.22).
