Pasadena Council Adjourns in Memory of Local Architect

The Pasadena City Council Monday adjourned its meeting in memory of local urbanist and architect David Wolf Monday. Wolf was found dead at his home near Zorthian Ranch in early December.

Wolf dedicated the last years of his life to three projects—an art project called “Pasadena Passages, “My City,” the story of Pasadena’s “City Beautiful” movement, and a return to community-driven city planning, and the Arroyo Link, a plan for a multi-use path from Downtown Pasadena to the Arroyo Seco.

“His life was ended prematurely,” said Mayor Terry Tornek, recalling that Wolf received a positive response from the Council when he visited last November.

Councilmember Andy Wilson echoed Tornek’s comments and said that “Wolf’s commitment and his thoroughness as a historian was second to none. I know I personally learned a tremendous amount from David, and his eagerness to teach us was incredibly admirable. I’m hoping the legacy of his work will continue to impact the City, and I will miss his friendship and collaboration.”

“Those of us who knew him and considered him a friend will miss him,” said Tornek, “and we extend our very deepest condolences to his parents and his siblings.”
