A bluegrass band like no other, The Miskey Mountain Boys will be at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena on Thursday, Dec. 22, seamlessly blending jazz, classical and swing with traditional Bluegrass into a new genre they lovingly call “Classgrazz.”
The Miskey Mountain Boys are world-class musicians – and they’re not all boys! They include Michelle Lynskey, who’s a talented slap bassist and sings, and Debbie Kollgaard, one of the most accomplished and sought after cellists in Southern California.
The boys are John Marshall, who was recently nominated for his performance as a slap bassist in the Johnny Cash tribute show, “The Ring of Fire”; Evan Marshall, who plays the fiddle and mandolin; and Alex Finazzo, high-energy guitarist who has taken the stage at some of the region’s largest bluegrass festivals and street fairs.
The band has performed all over the world, and at such events and venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Disney Studios, Pops Symphony Orchestras, the Tournament of Roses and the Laguna Festival of the Arts.
With their uniquely “Miskified” arrangements and extraordinary musicianship, The Miskey Boys blend mastery with laughter, joy and camaraderie to create an unforgettable experience.
Tickets to the show on Thursday are $20.
