In a bid to promote outdoor engagement and wildlife appreciation, AARP Los Angeles is partnering with the Pasadena Audubon Society to offer a virtual introduction to local bird watching. The event, scheduled for Thursday, July 25, aims to educate participants about the diverse avian population in the Los Angeles area.

The online session, part of AARP California’s “Let’s Take it Outside” program, will delve into the history of the Pasadena Audubon Society and highlight the health benefits associated with bird watching. Attendees will learn about local activities, field trips, and bird walks organized by the society.

“Have you seen the flocks of green parrots in L.A.?” AARP California (@AARPCA) posted on social media, encouraging participation in the upcoming event. The organization emphasized the opportunity to learn about the local bird population and the benefits of bird watching.

The virtual gathering will also provide information on how individuals can become involved with the Pasadena Audubon Society. Registration for the event is open to both AARP members and nonmembers, with AARP membership not required. Participants will receive a Zoom link via email before the class, which is scheduled to run from 1 to 2 p.m.

To register, go to http://spr.ly/601697zVp. The registration deadline is July 25 at 1:59 p.m.
