Austin Scott, the creator of the popular “Altadena Forever” illustration, will be signing screen prints at Webster’s Community Pharmacy on Saturday, April 5, from noon to 2 p.m. The event aims to support the community while raising funds for Eaton Fire relief efforts.
“I was sad about my favorite places we lost, so I drew this to make me happier,” Scott said about his illustration, which has resonated deeply with locals affected by the January 2025 disaster.
Webster’s Community Pharmacy recognized the significance of Scott’s artwork and organized the collaboration. The pharmacy, which reopened on February 17 after being temporarily closed due to the Eaton Fire, is hosting the event at its new location in the Chase Plaza Building at 2333 Lake Avenue, where it relocated in March 2024.
A limited number of screen prints will be available for purchase during the two-hour event. Both Scott and Webster’s are donating a percentage of sales proceeds to Eaton Fire relief. Attendees who already own a print can bring it to be signed by the artist.
Scott, an Altadena resident, is a multifaceted artist known for his work as an illustrator, actor, and editor with credits on television shows like MasterChef and The Masked Singer. He also operates an art store on Etsy and has illustrated works including a bathroom poetry book.
The “Altadena Forever” illustration celebrates the town’s business district and community spirit, serving as a tribute to what has been lost while highlighting what remains cherished in Altadena. The artwork has captured widespread attention within the community, particularly in the aftermath of the devastating fire.
Webster’s, a historic establishment founded in 1926, has demonstrated remarkable resilience in recent years. Under the ownership of Meredith and Michael Miller since 2010, the pharmacy relocated to its current smaller but modernized space after its previous lease expired. Despite facing challenges including a rapid 60-day conversion from a jiu-jitsu studio to a functioning pharmacy, Webster’s has maintained its community-focused identity.
Though spared from direct destruction by the Eaton Fire, Webster’s faced temporary closure due to regulatory requirements and infrastructure issues. During this period, prescription services were transferred to Fairmont Pharmacy in Pasadena to ensure uninterrupted care for customers.
Light charcuterie and beverages will be served at the April 5 signing event, which highlights Webster’s ongoing efforts to integrate cultural activities into its offerings while strengthening its connection with the community as it approaches its centennial anniversary in 2026.
