The Western Justice Center is set to re-open The Maxwell House, an exclusive events venue on the eastern edge of the Arroyo near Old Pasadena, with a special event of its own.
A ‘Spring Open House & Wedding Soiree’ on Sunday, March 19 at the historic Pasadena landmark will show off extensive improvements and renovations, including full restoration of its fine grain oak wood floors, grand entrance, and updated wedding suite. The work was started in the summer of 2022. The renovations were made possible by The Ahmanson Foundation and The Pasadena Community Foundation.
The Maxwell House is a favorite backdrop for a gaggle of prominent wedding publications, including The Knot, Wedding Wire, Wedding Pro, Here Comes the Guide, Zola, Southern California Bride, Aisle Society, Aisle Guide, Party Slate and Equally Wed LGBTQ Inclusive.
Funds from private events booked through The Maxwell House are used to sustain the Western Justice Center’s conflict resolution education work in schools throughout the Greater LA Area and to maintain the Center’s four-building nonprofit campus, which is home to more than 16 local organizations.
The Center is a leader in the field of conflict resolution education with dozens of school and community partnerships throughout Southern California. It promotes restorative approaches to violence reduction and conflict resolution, such as student-led peer mediation.
Guests attending the Open House on Sunday will have an exclusive opportunity to book newly available dates at The Maxwell House. Tours of the historic 1929 mansion will be offered throughout the day.
The event will feature a stylized atmosphere, with live music, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and libations, florals, decor, and access to vendors, such as LA Roots Catering, Maria’s Mixers, Vanilla Bakeshop, Ink & Rose Events, Jardin del Eden, Ixora Floral Studio, GirlSquad Media, Endless Entertainment, Harp by Karina, 3 Little Birds Event Planning, Great Officiants, and Friar Tux.
