Boston Court Pasadena will present a special screening of Tennessee Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire” on Saturday, July 19.
The 2 p.m. showing features Gillian Anderson from “Sex Education,” Vanessa Kirby from “The Crown” and Ben Foster from “Lone Survivor.”
The production was filmed live during a sold-out run at London’s Young Vic Theatre in 2014. Director Benedict Andrews helmed the acclaimed stage version.
The story follows Blanche as her fragile world crumbles. She turns to her sister Stella for solace but faces the brutal Stanley Kowalski during her downward spiral.
The screening is part of NT Live at Boston Court Pasadena. The series brings British theatre to Southern California audiences through high-definition recordings.
NT Live partners with Boston Court to present productions from London’s National Theatre and other UK venues. The recordings are projected on the big screen at the Pasadena theater.
The 2025 lineup includes other notable productions. “The Importance of Being Earnest” stars Sharon D. Clarke and Ncuti Gatwa. A stage adaptation of “Dr. Strangelove” features Steve Coogan.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s award-winning one-woman show “Fleabag2” is also scheduled. The screenings offer audiences world-class theatre without having to travel to London.
Tickets cost $35 for the 180-minute screening. For tickets, visit bostoncourtpasadena.org/
