Walk through a color-changing maze where your footsteps trigger sound, sniff mysterious scents from a “Smell-o-Phone” booth, and touch art that reveals hidden textures.

At Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena, visitors aren’t just learning about how the brain works—they’re experiencing it firsthand.

“Wired for Wonder: A Multisensory Maze,” running from February 15 through September 1, transforms the museum into a neuroscience-inspired labyrinth that challenges visitors to question how the brain fuses sensation, emotion and memory while satisfying criteria for groundbreaking intellectual perspective.

“You are invited to be scientist and subject, examining how your brain interprets and integrates sensory input with emotion and memory,” according to Kidspace’s promotional materials.

The installation, presented in collaboration with Getty’s PST ART: Art & Science Collide initiative, features works by artists Suchitra Mattai, Miguel Osuna, d. Sabela grimes, Alison Saar, Motorefisico and USC Immersive Media Lab.

The exhibit uses color, light, movement, texture, vibration and smell to explore human sensory integration.

The exhibit operates Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with daytime admission costing $10 as an add-on to general museum entry.

Evening access is available Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for $15.

Weekend evenings also feature “The Chill Lab,” focusing on flavor science and frozen treats for an extra $8.

“Kidspace has cracked the code: If you make learning feel like play, kids won’t just retain knowledge—they’ll run toward it,” wrote Grady Edelstein for Tinybeans.

The installation includes soft, colorful elements specifically designed for sensory stimulation and accessibility to toddlers and babywearing families.

“Wired for Wonder: A Multisensory Maze” will run on Sunday, Aug. 3 at 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. as an all-day experience.Kidspace Children’s Museum, 480 N. Arroyo Blvd., in Pasadena.
