As part of the university’s Student Group Performances series, the Caltech Orchestra will present its Winter Concerts featuring Concerto Competition winners on March 1 and 2.

Running 90 minutes, the Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon presentations at Ramo Auditorium are sponsored by the Caltech Orchestra, Performing and Visual Arts, and Student Affairs.

The orchestra, combining performers from the university and Jet Propulsion Laboratory who excel in both science and music, presents three concert pairs annually.

This weekend’s concerts spotlight winners selected from the Concerto Competition held last October, where Caltech students from Performing and Visual Arts ensembles competed.

Maintaining a diverse repertoire, the orchestra spans classical and contemporary works, frequently collaborating with the Caltech Glee Club and highlighting student soloists through its competition program.

The Winter Concert Series began with a Chamber Music performance of Beethoven, Vivaldi and Dvořák in February, and showcases the institution’s musical breadth across various genres.

The upcoming performances in March continue a tradition of bringing the Caltech community together through high-caliber musical presentations in an engaging environment.

For more information about the concerts, call Hyesung Park at (626) 295-3295 or email hschoe@caltech.edu.
