Castle Green Will Open Its Doors For Magnificent 125th Anniversary Holiday Tour

Century-old architectural landmark in Pasadena invites public for rare interior tour featuring entertainment and seasonal festivities

Castle Green, a treasured historic landmark at 99 S. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena, will commemorate its 125th anniversary with a special four-hour holiday tour on Dec. 8, Sunday.

Visitors will have unprecedented access to the ground floor, more than 20 residential condominiums, penthouse and the iconic Bridge during this self-guided tour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Frederick I. Roehrig-designed structure, which blends Moorish, Spanish and Victorian architectural influences, stands as a testament to Pasadena’s golden era since its construction in 1898.

Event organizers have planned a comprehensive holiday celebration featuring live piano performances, carol singers, a photo booth and lawn games, along with bite-sized holiday snacks and refreshments while supplies last.

The historic building, which has become a centerpiece of Pasadena’s architectural heritage, will offer general admission tickets at $70, subject to availability and capacity limits.

Accessibility accommodations include elevator service specifically reserved for visitors requiring handicap access, with parking available at the Schoolhouse Block Parking Structure, at 33 E. Green Street, and Del Mar Station Parking, at 230 S. Raymond Ave.

The property’s convenient location near the Del Mar Metro Station provides public transportation access for visitors seeking to explore this remarkable piece of California’s architectural history.
