John Philip Newell
An internationally recognized Celtic teacher will lead a special evening service focused on healing and hope in the aftermath of Southern California’s devastating wildfires.
John Philip Newell will appear at All Saints Church 132 North Euclid Avenue on Sunday, February 16, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., followed by a reception in Sweetland Hall until 9:00 p.m.
The gathering will center on themes from Newell’s new book, The Great Search: Turning to Earth & Soul in the Quest for Healing & Home, exploring grief and reimagining the future.
In this interfaith experience open to all, participants are invited to bring photographs or remnants from fire-damaged homes to create an altar of hope at the church’s front.
The service will incorporate music, symbols and songs to help attendees lament the sufferings of Earth and humanity while yearning for a way forward together.
Community members can place memorial items on the chancel steps altar during weekday church hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or bring them the evening of the event.
The service will be livestreamed at allsaints-pas.org/live-stream/
