Cruel World Festival Returns to Rose Bowl in 2025 With New Order, Nick Cave Headlining

Iconic '80s bands lead lineup at Goldenvoice's popular alternative music event next May

Goldenvoice has announced the return of the Cruel World Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Brookside at The Rose Bowl1001 Rose Bowl Drive. The festival will feature an impressive lineup headlined by New Order and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

The one-day event showcases a roster of influential alternative, post-punk and new wave artists spanning several decades. Notable performers include The Go-Go’s, Devo, OMD, Death Cult, Garbage, Madness and ‘Til Tuesday.

Additional acts on the bill range from established names like She Wants Revenge, Alison Moyet and Chelsea Wolfe to newer groups such as Mareux, Nation of Language and Depresión Sonora. The festival will also include performances by Blancmange, Stereo MC’s, She Past Away, Buzzcocks, Clan of Xymox, Provoker, Kite, Midge Ure, N8NOFACE, Actors, Deceits, Light Asylum, Wisteria, and Social Order.

Tickets for the festival are currently available for purchase in multiple tiers with varying price points. General Admission tickets start at $249, while General Admission Plus tickets are priced at $349.

For attendees seeking premium experiences, VIP tickets are available for $459, and Clubhouse passes can be purchased for $1,029. The festival will also feature a “Club Doom” experience that will run all day long.

The event is being presented by Goldenvoice, described in promotional materials as “the premier California music promoter and subsidiary of AEG Presents.” The festival will be held at Brookside at The Rose Bowl, located at 1001 Rose Bowl Drive in Pasadena.
