In a move to cultivate early appreciation for nature, Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flinntridge has announced its “Little Owls” program, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the garden’s Feather Falls location.

The 30-minute educational session, which runs from 11 to 11:30 a.m., will feature a carefully curated combination of songs, puppet performances, and book readings designed for children aged 2 to 7.

The program, which requires adult caregiver accompaniment, will take place in the garden’s Camellia Forest near the Main Lawn, offering young participants an immersive natural setting for their learning experience.

Descanso Gardens has structured the program to be free with regular admission fees and making it available at no additional cost to members, without requiring advance registration.

Admission fees are from $5 for children 5 and above, to $15 for adults.

The botanical institution emphasizes fostering visitors’ “special connection to nature” through its membership program, which offers year-round free admission, event discounts, early access privileges, and exclusive classes.

Memberships, which provide access to exclusive activities and other benefits, are nonrefundable.
